Is Blogging Dead?

Blogging is dead.

Right? It’s all about the video because nobody reads anymore and video has everything our short attention spans demand.

In the U.S. within the same five-year span, video has risen in popularity and surpassed blogs in searches.

However, blogs are still viable marketing channels with WebTribunal reporting there are more than 600 million blogs out of 1.9 billion websites worldwide. Collectively, these blogs generate 6 million posts daily with WordPress and Tumblr being the most popular platforms.

And there is plenty of evidence that blogging is still a strategic means of communication and can make a huge difference in SEO, audience engagement, prospecting, thought leadership, inbound marketing, and more.

In my own company, my blog has been around for nearly 14 years and I can cite examples of why it is a pillar of my SEO strategy that helps me get word-of-mouth and search-sourced clientele every year.

And just so you don't think I’m completely married to words alone; I evolved my blog into incorporating playable video and audio into many of my posts.

If you do it right, you can reap the benefits of SEO enhancement, building authority, and even making a few pennies here on Medium.
