A Heartfelt Thanks — And a New Chapter

First off, I want to express my sincere appreciation to all of you who have followed and read my work here on Medium. Your support means a lot, and I don’t take it for granted.

That said, after much consideration, I’ve realized that Medium, while a great platform in some respects, is too limited for what I want to do. The time and care I put into my writing deserve a space that offers more flexibility, better audience engagement, and — let’s be honest — more sustainable financial support.

That’s why I’m focusing my efforts on Substack, where my newsletter, All the Fits That’s News, offers both free and paid content. Starting in May, I’ll be launching regular subscriber-only columns and exclusive audio episodes — content that won’t be available on my usual podcasting platforms.

I do not make this choice lightly — leaving 2,000 followers on Medium for something that isn’t a sure thing on Substack. But that should tell you just how strongly I feel about having complete control over my work and how it reaches you.

Why Substack?

  • More user-friendly — A cleaner, more intuitive reading and commenting experience.
  • Better direct connectionNo algorithm deciding whether you see my work; if you subscribe, you get it straight to your inbox.
  • More ways to support independent creators — Unlike Medium’s opaque payment structure, Substack allows direct reader support through free and paid subscriptions, ensuring the platform values the writer as much as the content.

Why Not Keep Both?

Maintaining both platforms would mean splitting my focus and energy, and Medium charges me just to be here. Substack, on the other hand, gives me full creative and financial control, allowing me to connect directly with readers.

Plus, simply copying and pasting my work from Substack to Medium wouldn’t be fair to my subscribers who support me for exclusive content and a better experience.

Mayday, Mayday!

My Medium account will officially close after the first week of May, so if you’ve enjoyed my work here, I’d love for you to follow me to All the Fits That’s News. You can subscribe for free, or if you’d like to support my work, there’s a paid tier with extra perks. Either way, I’d be thrilled to have you join me. Let’s not lose touch!
